Charlie and Carol Ann Sellers

Church Planting in Ghana

At age 24, Charlie was a brand-new believer living in a rescue mission, saved out of a life of drugs and alcohol. Charlie had to surrender so much of his will to find the Lord that it took only months for him to surrender to God’s plan of serving in full-time Christian service. The first thing Charlie wanted to do after leaving the rescue mission was go to Bible college.

In college he met his future wife, Carol Ann, and they became involved in Maranatha Baptist, a missions-minded church. The Sellers were encouraged to minister actively and help the church multiply itself. Such a service-minded atmosphere helped point Charlie and Carol Ann toward God’s specific call to Ghana, West Africa.

Charlie and Carol Ann loved the country and its people when they visited in the summer of 2009. They anticipate being on a church-planting team in central Ghana. Charlie is working on a master’s degree as further preparation.

Lives Offered Up

The Sellers have had a platform of witness to their many unsaved family members by sharing why they would give up the comforts of America for Africa. Charlie: “It’s been amazing to see the things He prepares for us when we’re doing what He wants us to. When you don’t surrender to God’s plan, you run the danger of losing that and losing the protection and blessing of being in God’s perfect will.”
